Thank you so much for strongly supporting the work of our official charity partner, Girls from Oz (g-oz). The AGC community is engaging more and more actively each year and we love hearing stories about innovative fundraising – from little girls being creative in their pitches to student representative groups to members of alumni harnessing professional and personal networks. Friends of our Founder, Judith Curphey, recently hosted an event at which most donors were in their late 80s and early 90s. It’s truly a multi-generational effort!
2019 marks the fifth year that the AGC has proudly supported the g-oz Giving Circles campaign, and we are delighted to announce that g-oz has again exceeded its fundraising target. Having set the aim of raising $60,000 in three months, they have raised over $95,000 including a record amount of $35,000 in matched funding. With a specific focus on developing girls and young women, g-oz engages more than 500 school aged children in performing arts education each term across their three remote and regional program locations. In the first half of the year g-oz completed eight successful week-long visits to Halls Creek, Carnarvon and Lockhart River and together with ten senior AGC girls also undertook the Shining in the Kimberley tour.
