56 members of Performing Choir, Camerata and Concert Level have returned with many wonderful stories of a very successful three week tour to Europe and Hong Kong.
During the 22 day tour, the girls were hosted with choirs and schools and were involved in 21 performances and workshops. Travelling to destinations including Rome, Marostica, Venice, Vienna, Graz and Hong Kong, the cultural and performance experiences were many and varied. They included:
- Papal Audience performance for Pope Francis at St Peter’s Square, Vatican City and a public performance at Disneyland Hong Kong
- Performance hosted by the Australian Embassy in Rome
- Combined concerts and workshops with host schools and choirs including Ambrit International School, Gioventu in Cantata, Amadeus International School, Graz International Bilingual School, and Kennedy School.
- Visiting famous landmarks including Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum in Rome; the Piazza San Marco, Ponte di Rialto and a gondola ride in Venice; the Stephansdom and Kärntner Straße in Vienna; Eggenberg Palace, Riegersburg Castle and Zotter Chocolate Factory in Graz; and Victoria Peak, the Stanley Markets and Disneyland in Hong Kong
We have received many positive comments from host families and schools, audience members and the general public, which have reflected what outstanding ambassadors our touring choristers were, not only for the choir, but our country. Congratulations to all girls involved, we are very proud of your achievements!
