Dear Parents and girls,
What an incredible 35th anniversary year we’ve had; we’ve celebrated AGC Founder, Judith Curphey’s 90th birthday in Paris where the girls were on tour, spent a month singing with Hugh Jackman, and by December 8 will have presented 18 Annual Concerts over six weekends. I’ve had the privilege of working with this organisation for 25 years and Annual Concert time is truly my favourite time of year. As I travel from city to city, I love to connect with alumni who now have daughters in the choir, parents who’ve been AGC family members for 12 years and more, and it’s of course a joy to work with our talented and enthusiastic staff members. We all thoroughly enjoy watching the littlest girls bouncing around at the side of stage waiting for their turn to perform and as the years pass we see them grow into confident young women who can represent us at any event in Australia or around the world.
We’re proud of all that we’ve achieved in the first five years of our charity partnership with Girls from Oz. Please do take ten minutes to watch this short documentary ‘Girls from Oz: These are our Daughters. Future Mothers. Future Leaders.’ and if you feel inclined to provide some support for this work then you can do so on your daughter’s re-enrolment form (tax deductible receipts will be sent). Who better to encourage girls in remote Australia to be thoroughly engaged in their education than you? It’s people who believe in the life-enhancing benefits of performing arts education who clearly see the value of the work g-oz does. We appreciate any donation you might make as you join hundreds of supporters in the ASPA community in supporting g-oz.
We thank you for choosing to be part of this vibrant organisation this year. Please do look out for the senior girls who’ll be singing carols all around the country in coming weeks and we’ll look forward to welcoming all of our enthusiastic girls back in 2020.
