All choristers from Piccolo to Concert level participate in two performances each year; our Winter Showcase in June and Annual Concert in November/December.
For those of you who have not attended a Winter Showcase previously, these concerts feature items by all of our training levels, specialist groups and senior choristers in Camerata and Performing Choir.
Girls present items with their level group and also have the opportunity to perform a song with our senior choristers. We find this to be a highlight for our ‘little girls’ – both as a learning experience and a way for them to imagine what it is like to be one of our ‘big girls’ and aspire to a long future at AGC.
We aim for this event to be as family friendly as possible from the point of view that:
- girls wear uniforms rather than costumes,
- whole rehearsal venues perform together making it straightforward for parents of two or more choristers, and
- you’ll be asked to bring girls to the venue just 30 minutes before the show and you can then make your way to your seats.
Concert venues that meet our many requirements are few and far between. It’s a challenge nationally to find big enough stages and backstage areas, appropriate audience capacity, along with sound and lighting technology. We understand that the concert venue may be a significant distance for some families and we apologise for any inconvenience this causes.
An email covering all of the performance details including venue parking, arrival times, what to wear & bring and ticketing information is sent to all families at the start of term two.
