Event Organisers

For more than 30 years, the AGC has delighted audiences across Australia and around the world with our performances at major national and international events, on television and in recording studios; to become a much loved Australian cultural icon.

More than just a choir…

We aim to challenge the traditional view of choirs, and are known for our ability to excite audiences with our impressive choreographed routines, vibrant performance costumes and exquisite singing. We have a diverse and extensive repertoire including much loved Aussie tunes, upbeat and inspirational items, Broadway show numbers, songs from other cultures and of course Christmas Carols! Event organisers often comment on our girls’ professionalism, impeccable behaviour and their wonderful ability to connect and interact with different audiences.

Representing the ‘Spirit of Australia’ for Qantas

There is no greater testament to our reputation than our selection by Qantas to represent the ‘Spirit of Australia’ in their highly acclaimed ‘I Still Call Australia Home’ advertising campaigns since 1998. We are delighted to have involved thousands of our girls in the filming of the advertisements and in hundreds of live performances and tours for Qantas during our nineteen year relationship.

Our performance experience is unparalleled

The AGC has performed with a long list of outstanding artists and personalities from the entertainment world including Hugh Jackman, Olivia Newton-John, Guy Sebastian, Christine Anu and Marina Prior. They have entertained dignitaries including Nelson Mandela, Queen Elizabeth II, Pope Benedict XVI, and President Barack Obama. We have dazzled audiences all over the globe at events including recently at Hugh Jackman’s national tour ‘Broadway To Oz’, the filming of Oprah Winfrey’s live Australia Shows, the AFL Grand Final, Australian Open Tennis and the Boy from Oz arena musical. We have also undertaken several exciting recording projects including the release of our latest CD, Chasing Rainbows, for ABC Music and involvement in the Myer Spirit of Christmas CD.

Professionalism, adaptability and reputation

The AGC is a national organisation with over 30 years of industry experience, and as Australia’s most in demand performing arts organisation, you can feel assured when booking us that you are securing the best. All our girls are trained in song, dance and performance skills and we can offer a performance group from as small as one girl right up to 200 singers. With performance groups based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney we can provide the same size and quality of choir across a variety of locations for your events or tours. Our staff team are used to working at many of the country’s largest events and bring a wealth of experience with logistics coordination, stage management, musical direction and choreographic training.

We have been thrilled to receive such a positive response from parents wishing to enrol their daughter in AGC classes in 2021 and expect to have waiting lists at many of our rehearsal venues. If you are still considering enrolment with us, we encourage you to try a complimentary class at your local rehearsal venue in Term 1!

You can view your local rehearsal venue timetable and book in online here: https://ausgirlschoir.com.au/febopenday/
Term 1 lessons are now well underway and we are glad to see girls settling well into their weekly lessons. If this is your first year at AGC then we encourage familiarising yourself with the ‘AGC Family’.

Venue Manager
They are your main point of contact for all things AGC. Concert days, rehearsal logistics, uniform questions, etc. They’ll let you know what’s coming up each term and are also available for any wellbeing or pastoral care matters you might like to chat with them about.

Your tutor is there to support and nurture your daughter’s musical development and can give you feedback on how she’s going in class and provide extension if ready. Having an open and communicative relationship with your daughter’s tutor is also incredibly valuable as you’ll be able to let them know what you hope your daughter will get out of the choir and they can better nurture that. For each parent it’s different, it might be about social skills, a creative outlet, musical development, or developing their confidence and physical presence.

Other choristers
The other choristers will make your daughter’s time at choir fun and uplifting. Parents comment on how rewarding it is for their daughter to have a social group outside of regular schooling where they can come together with other girls over a common interest in music. Over time these girls will blossom into lifelong friends.

We hope your daughter is having loads of fun jumping into her weekly lessons! Remember our staff are here to support you and you can reach out at any time.
