Ask another parent ‘Why AGC?’
Whether your daughter has been singing before she could talk and is ready to find her moment in the spotlight, or she is looking to grow her confidence and find her voice, the Australian Girls Choir is a place where your daughter will grow musically and socially in an inclusive and inspirational learning environment. You will see her build a set of life long skills like confidence, communication, leadership, emotional intelligence, all the while being surrounded by a community of supportive and uplifting peers.
Our greatest endorsement of this comes from the thousands of parents that have seen their daughters thrive during their time in the choir. We recently surveyed our AGC parents to find out how they rate their experience. Read on to learn what parents and caregivers value most about their child being part of the Australian Girls Choir.
There are so many reasons families choose the AGC, and now is a wonderful time for your daughter to begin her journey. See for yourself what makes the AGC so unique by joining us for a free class at our upcoming February Open Day.

Excellent music education
With over 40 years of experience as a leading provider of performing arts education, we’ve developed a reputation of professionalism and excellence that is not lost on our parent community. 92% of AGC parents believe that their child’s tutor is providing an excellent education. Families also tell us they value our clear communication, well-organised rehearsals and events, and the way our tutors create a safe, supportive environment where every child feels seen. This long-standing trust means schools and parents can confidently partner with us, knowing their students are in expert hands both on and off the stage.
“Amelia absolutely loves being part of the AGC, it is one of the highlights of her week. She finds so much joy in singing with others, learning new pieces, and feeling the energy of working together toward a shared goal.” – Elaine French, SA
Each week in class, girls ease into learning with playful vocal and physical warm-ups, singing games and taking on age-appropriate new repertoire. Before they know it, they’re experimenting with their own musical ideas while quietly building strong foundations in vocal technique and music language. With gentle guidance, encouragement and meaningful feedback from their tutors, girls begin to stand a little taller, find their voice, and discover just how capable they really are.
“AGC gives her musical opportunities that she would never be able to experience elsewhere. Jessica often talks about the magic of singing with so many other talented vocalists. This is evident in the concerts that the AGC hold.” – Sarah Saliba, SA

Social and personal development
Academic research has found that students who learn music throughout primary and high school perform, on average, almost a full year ahead of their non-musical peers in areas such as Maths, Science and English, but we know particularly as children approach their first years of schooling, parents are just as interested in supporting their child’s confidence, resilience, and happiness. Here’s what AGC parents had to say:
“The AGC provides such a positive environment where girls are encouraged to find their voice — not just in singing, but in how they carry themselves and connect with others. It’s been wonderful to see Estée grow in confidence, make new friends, and develop a love of performing in such a supportive and uplifting space.” – Angela Di Maggio, QLD
“For my daughter’s personal growth, I love that the choir helps her build confidence through performing, public speaking and leadership opportunities. It also nurtures important qualities like discipline, commitment and resilience. – Lori Horton, VIC
These reflections show the impact of being part of a nurturing, all-girls community where choristers are encouraged to grow and be brave. Families consistently see their daughters becoming more self-assured, socially connected and fostering a growth mindset. It’s this sense of belonging and personal development that so many parents value as their children progress through their schooling years.

A staff team that goes above and beyond
We pride ourselves on having a staff team that goes above and beyond for our choristers. From our Tutors and Venue Managers in classes each week to our Head Office team, we’re proud to share that 92% of parents feel that we provide excellent customer service and that any enquiries or concerns are dealt with in a timely manner. In addition, parents overwhelmingly expressed confidence in the safe, supportive environment we provide at our venues.
“Our daughter adores AGC. It is such a huge, and positive part of our lives. It isn’t just the singing, it’s the friendships, the experiences and the care shown from the entire team that make it so special.” – Janet McPherson, QLD
“I cannot speak highly enough about how well run the organisation is and how caring and approachable the staff are.” – Katrina Aquilla, NSW
Our Tutors and Venue Managers take the time to learn each girl’s name, understand her needs and notice how she’s progressing, helping every chorister feel seen, supported and valued. This attention to detail creates a warm, welcoming environment where girls can settle in quickly, build trust and thrive.
“From our perspective, the AGC is an exceptionally well-organised and professionally run organisation — from the weekly classes through to the major performances and right down to the clarity and consistency of the email communication. Every aspect reflects an organisation that operates with care, precision and excellence.” – Amie and Anand Senthi, WA

Overall, 90% of AGC families reported being satisfied or extremely satisfied with their experience. We’re incredibly grateful for the thoughtful feedback shared by our parent community and proud that, for them, our success is reflected not only in musical achievement, but in the positive impact we have on nurturing confident, happy girls.
“The care and dedication of this institution are unmatched, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone” – Feifei Tang, WA
