The AGC has welcomed the beginning of carols season on November 10 this year, performing as part of the Adelaide Christmas Pageant. Now in its 86th year, the pageant is recognized as a heritage icon and is the second longest Christmas parade in the world.
Our choristers have been performing in the pageant since 2010 and enjoy seeing the amazing production come together each year. More than 1,700 volunteers coordinate more than 80 floats, 15 bands, 164 clowns, dancing groups, walking performers and of course the AGC! The pageant makes its way along 3.35 kilometres from South Terrace to North Terrace for the grand finale of Father Christmas making his way to his workshop.
This year fifteen Performing Choir choristers took part in the pageant which always incorporates elaborate costuming and stage sets. The girls performed beautifully in front of more than 70,000 spectators. The pageant marks the start of an exciting and festive carols season, with many events taking place across the country during December.
