Welcome to Open Day
We hope your daughter enjoys her trial class! To make things easy for you, we’ve collated all of our information in one place for you to browse while your daughter enjoys her lesson.
Involvement in the AGC extends far beyond the excellent music and performing arts education we provide. An experience like no other; we focus on growing girls through the hidden elements of our curriculum – including developing confidence, presentation skills and musicality, all while having fun in a safe and nurturing environment. Have your daughter grow up under the expert guidance of the Australian Girls Choir.
Information for Parents
How to enrol your daughter for 2024
We’re now accepting enrolments at our local rehearsal venues for 2024!
Positions in classes are filled in date and time order, and we already have waiting lists at many of our venues in 2024. We therefore encourage you to organise your enrolment as soon as possible! Positions in classes are limited and are allocated in date order upon receipt of online enrolment form and $50 deposit via our secure payment facility.
Frequently Asked Questions
You can enrol by completing our online enrolment form and submitting a $50 non-refundable deposit through our secure payment facility. We’ll then be in touch within a week to confirm if a position is available in your preferred class. If we are unable to offer your daughter a position at her preferred venue, you may choose to keep her on our waiting list for the next available position or you are able to receive a full refund of your $50 deposit.
Occasionally girls change their mind, and we have a resignation policy included in our Terms of Enrolment with more information about discontinuing classes. Should your daughter wish to resign from the choir, please notify our Head Office prior to the first class of the term. Once classes have begun, the full fees for the current term are payable plus a $20 administration fee, regardless of attendance.
If a position is available, we will send you an email to confirm the position along with information regarding starting classes. We will also email you an invoice for the balance of the fees, which are payable annually in advance. Alternatively, an instalment plan using direct debit from your bank account is available for enrolments commencing in Terms 1 & 2. A 5% discount applies on total fees for each sibling enrolled in the choir.
We don’t require girls to undertake an audition to gain a place within the junior@agc or AGC Training Levels of the choir. Instead we prefer girls to come along and try a lesson at Open Day or at your local venue so you can your daughter can decide if the AGC is the right fit. We have an inclusive policy and our classes are designed to cater for varying abilities and experience levels. It is our philosophy that all girls can learn to sing given encouragement and training, and we aim to make music learning a positive and enjoyable experience.
Girls who reach Concert level and would like to continue their journey with the AGC are invited to audition for our Senior Performance Levels (Camerata and Performing Choir). Entry to these levels is not guaranteed after completing a year in Concert level; however we encourage all girls to audition.

Our junior@agc classes provide girls with an introduction to the performing arts. Levels include:
- Piccolo – entry in Kinder/Prep/Pre-Primary/Reception and Grade 1
- Vivo – entry in Grade 2
Our AGC Training Levels allow girls to take the next steps in their performing arts education, building their musicianship and confidence.

Additionally, all choristers perform in two concerts each year. Choristers do not require a ticket.
- Our Winter Showcase Concerts are held in June and ticket prices range from $24 – $36.
- Our Annual Concerts are held in November and December at Melbourne Hamer Hall, Robert Blackwood Hall, Sydney Opera House, The Concourse Chatswood, Perth Concert Hall, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Llewellyn Hall at ANU, Canberra, and the Adelaide Town Hall. Ticket prices range from $34 – $65.
All of our choristers take part in our mid-year ‘Winter Showcase Concert’ and end-of-year ‘Annual Concert’. Concerts are held in major venues in each city including the Adelaide Town Hall, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Canberra Girls Grammar School and Llewellyn Hall at ANU, Hamer Hall and Robert Blackwood Hall in Melbourne, Perth Concert Hall, the Concourse and the Sydney Opera House. By performing with their level group as well as in the massed finale, choristers feel comfortable performing on stage even at a very young age and find the concert experience to be a lot of fun! In addition to these performances, parents are invited to attend a demonstration lesson in Terms 1 and 3 at rehearsal venues to see a regular class in action.
Our senior choristers are also given the opportunity to perform at various events throughout the year. In the past these have included major sporting events, television appearances, studio recordings, carols gigs and corporate functions. Explore our performance highlights here.
